I’ve never actually watched the Emmy’s–nor the Oscar’s, for that matter–but I find it amusing to sometimes click over the red carpet pics and the lists of best and worst dressed. I find it entertaining because the division between these two lists has always seemed a bit arbitrary.
Look for yourself, and see what I mean.
Heading the best dressed list, […]

Best and Worst Divided by Foldable Green
Published by September 22nd, 2008 in Rumblings and Just for Laughs. 0 CommentsHospital Phobia and Thoughts on Scrubs
Published by September 20th, 2008 in Home in the Rookery and Just for Laughs. 0 CommentsOur six-year-old has recently decided that going to the hospital is tantamount to dying. Probably in the worst way.
I’m not sure what led to this decision. The fact that she worried over three great grandparents last year, all of whom made regular visits to the hospital, and all of whom died within a period of six […]
In honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day, today I ditched the car and spent some four or five hours treasure hunting on foot. During the course of said treasure hunt, I encouraged my young swashbuklers to mess with the fountain while I daydreamed of my book-bound friends’ celebration of Pirate Day, fed the whole crew fried chips and fish for lunch, […]
Hauling Away the Uhaul
Published by September 8th, 2008 in Home in the Rookery, Rumblings and Just for Laughs. 0 CommentsSadly, I did not get photos. You will all have to stretch your imagination tall and long in order to wrap it around the mental image of a 24 foot uhaul–backed into my driveway.
Now, if said Uhaul had been mine, that would be alright. If it had belonged to a sister, cousin, or neighbor, I’d […]
Blowing Kisses to the Online World
Published by September 2nd, 2008 in Blogging and Just for Laughs. 0 CommentsYeah, I’m back! Hello everyone!
You may not have missed me, but I’ve been in withdrawal. We moved over a week ago, and other than one short moment of nauseatingly-slow dial-up internet, I’ve been entirely unplugged. No emails. No blogging. No feedback on writing. No chatting with online friends.
It was an electronic wasteland.
The amusing part is, one of […]
When The Ninjas Get it Right
Published by August 25th, 2008 in Martial Arts and Just for Laughs. 4 CommentsYou might be wondering how I’m managing to blog on our moving day, and the answer would be—
I’m a Ninja!
Okay, not even a wanna-be. But I am a fan of Ask a Ninja, and someday I plan to send in a question. Right after I get my six foot plot of earth picked out and and my life […]
A bit of this, a bit of that, and some of the other, too
Published by August 22nd, 2008 in Home in the Rookery and Just for Laughs. 0 CommentsOkay, so Plainbellied tagged me, and I figure that’s as good a reason as any to catch up the plog, whoops, I mean blog. We’ll get to plogs some other time.
The rules are: List the rules. Then list three: joys, fears, goals, obsessions, facts. I guess someone likes three…except that I’m then supposed to tag […]
The Ongoing Saga of the Saltwater Tank
Published by July 16th, 2008 in Home in the Rookery, Just for Laughs and Reef Tank. 4 CommentsBack in December (2007) when we got our tank I didn’t blog about it ’cause the tank was more for my husband. Besides, it was just before Christmas and I was overwhelmed with school, etc.
Then I fell in love with the tank, and discovered it was for me, too. My favorite date is to the […]
I promised a pic of Penelope, and here she is.
No, not the girl. The cannon half-buried in the sidewalk. She was dubbed Penelope and lived an exciting life as a kind of town mascot before dying mid-blast. She was given a full funeral and buried here, in the sidewalk outside an old news office. May the poor […]
I hope you can read the text on this–it was posted outside our local favorite, Moe’s. I seem to see a shadowy tomato thief reflected in the glass. Let’s hope they catch the culprit soon and bring him/her to tomato justice!
