We took the kids (on Saturday, I’m behind) to the Carnivore Preservation Trust, just outside of Pittsboro. It’s a very cool and happening place with leopards (including the last Barbary), ocelots, tigers, servals and, of course, the darling but ferocious kinkajous. Yes, that’s the same little critter that bit Paris Hilton . . . and then ordered out for a gallon of banana-scented mouthwash.
The cool thing is I have this short-short tiger goddess story that needs an overhaul, and Saturday’s visit gave me all the material and inspiration I could wish for.
The guides were quite funny, the animals active, and the tiger ‘marked’ the kids with popcorn smell-alike urine. All in all, it was a pretty good day.
I just want to pass on that I created a blog in memory of the founder of CPT and please pass on to anyone that may have know Dr. Michael Bleyman
