I've met OSC before, and am pretty familiar with his style. While he can be rather self-assured, I've found that to be pretty common amongst male writers who have been or are at the top of their game. And don't even get me started on editors and publishers! I'm so jealous. Though I will warn you, OSC in person is one of the more obnoxious and off-putting people I've ever come into contact with in my life (he came to the school a year or two ago for a conference).
