A Well-loved Shack
Apparently this shack’s got something priceless inside. A truck followed us down the road to where I was taking a picture for my Facebook album and asked what we were up to, very polite, but still inquiring. When we told them I just wanted some pictures, they were cool with it. They had to be attentive, they explained. They’d had trouble with people taking stuff, and so were on their guard.
Taking…what??
Still, I suppose keeping a valuable in a place like this has it’s own peculiar logic. After all, who would think to rob it?

If that’s the case, I wonder where they’re hiding the jewels!

Beautiful!!! Man, it makes me miss NC… I never actually got a chance to do my own album of abandoned buildings. Maybe I’ll do it when I come back in February. (there are just not that many cool abandoned buildings in Idaho….)
Hmmm, too much civic pride? Or not enough history? You’ll have to go hunting when you come home, as you say. Make sure you share any extra cool ones!
I’ll bet people steal the wood to make things out of. I myself would love to make a picture frame out of some!
great shot, btw!
Ooh, I’ll bet it would make a lovely frame. I hadn’t thought about pulling it apart for the weathered wood–you’re right, I’ll bet some people do that.
And, thanks!
