I think I’ll write a story about ants taking over the world.
And where would I have gotten an idea like that?
Could have been this National Geographic tidbit on Army Ants. It could have been the study of these peaceful colonies.
But, no. I must confess that once again my inspiration came from a little closer to home. Inside my home, in fact. And if I needed any proof of thier aggression and desire for world dominance, I need only check the multiple ant bites dotting my legs.
The story, “Leiningen versus the Ants” is one of the best short stories I read, and it’s about a farmer doing battle with army ants! Well worth the read.
