Daylight Saving Deja Vu

We had friends drop in for a quick visit this weekend.  We hadn’t seen them for awhile so the conversation last night was going a mile a minute and doing double duty.

Around midnight we discussed styles of fiction writers and compared books we’d been reading.

Around 1:00 am we talked of art and decor, and brought out the cheese and crackers.

Around 2:00 am we conversed on the merits of public vs. private education, and considered the elements of job satisfaction.

At 3:00 am we finished the discussion on exit strategies from work, and concluded that we are all too old to stay up late.  Then we went to bed.

This morning I was impressed with the level of coherency we had retained, and the broad spectrum of topics we’d touched on.  But then it hit me–we went off Daylight Saving at 2:00 am, so we actually went to bed at 2:00 am the second time it came around.  We got in a whole bonus hour of conversation.

No wonder we felt gabbed out.
