Hyperbole >n. exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally. 

Sesquipedalian >adj. formal (of a word); polysyllabic; long: sesquipedalian surnames.

2. characterized by long words; long-winded: the sesquipedalian prose of scientific journals.
